You don't have to guess anymore, and you don't have to know everything
This page gives you the foundational knowledge to confidently guide clients through functional testing. Not medical school. Just what you need to have the conversation, read the basics, and know when to hand off to deeper support.

Standard bloodwork saying 'normal' and functional testing saying 'optimal' are two completely different conversations. Most clients living with fatigue, brain fog, or hormonal symptoms have had 'normal' results their whole lives.

REMEMBER
When a client gets their results every marker appears with their value and range. The provider review gives them a comprehensive written explanation of every result, what it means for their health and what is recommended. You do not need to interpret results. That is what the provider review is for.
How to read a functional lab report, the basics
You will not interpret results for clients. But understanding the basic structure helps you have a confident conversation when results arrive.
Flag the out-of-range markers.
Results show each marker with a reference range and a high, low, or optimal indicator. Start here. You do not need to know what every marker means in depth — just which ones are flagged.
Your ferritin came back low and your cortisol is outside the optimal range — those two things together actually explain a lot of what you have been experiencing.
Connect the marker to the symptom.
You do not need a medical degree to contextualize results. Connect what is flagged to what your client already told you they are experiencing. The pattern matters more than the number.
You mentioned you are exhausted even after a full night of sleep — your Free T3 being low is one of the most common reasons for exactly that pattern.
Know when to hand off.
If a client has complex or multiple out-of-range markers, or wants deep clinical explanation — that is exactly what the provider review is for. This is not a limitation. It is a feature of how HealSoma is designed to work.
I can walk through the highlights with you — and I would really recommend adding the provider review. They give you a full written breakdown of everything flagged and exactly what to do about it.
The conversation and the context.
You know your client. You understand what they have been experiencing. You connect their results to their story and adjust the program accordingly. That is your role — and it is the most valuable part.
The clinical depth.
A HealSoma licensed provider gives a comprehensive written breakdown of every flagged marker — what it means clinically, what is driving it, and what is recommended. Add-on for $115. Optional telehealth call available for clients who want to speak directly with the provider.
